Not a morning person? Well you will be now with these amazing ways to start your morning!

1. Drink a glass of warm water with lemon

Great for kick starting your metabolism and hydrating after 7—9 hours of sleep with no hydration. Drinking lemon water will also help with digestion and also help flush out toxins in the body.

2. Stretch

This is something that you can do in bed. It feels good and it’s a great way to strengthen and warm up your muscles to get ready for the day. An example would be the yoga child’s pose or a full body stretch.

3. Get a great workout in

You don’t even have to go to the gym. You can do a workout in your own living room, run around the neighbourhood or even your backyard. It can be a run, yoga or a customised circuit workout. Try to get at least 30 minutes in and your body will thank you for it. It will make you a lot healthier and stronger. Another plus is that you will feel more awake and alert than before!

4. Eat breakfast outside

Absorb all the morning sensations in, hear the birds chirping, let the warm sun shine on your skin or just enjoy the peacefulness of the morning.

5. Have a healthy breakfast

Fuel your body with whole protein. This includes eggs, bacon and plain greek yoghurt. Protein is one of the main building blocks in your body so it is important to include this in your diet. It can help combat stress, tiredness and muscle soreness. For those of you who go to the gym, it will help recover and maintain your muscles as well as helping you feel fuller for longer.

6. Forget the snooze button

Using the snooze button interrupts your sleep cycle and will make you groggy and less energetic when you wake up.  Instead, set your alarm to wake up half an hour earlier, stretch in bed and then hop on out of bed.

7. Get Motivated!

Start the day by listening to your favourite podcast, read one or multiple motivational quotes, smile and think about what you want to achieve today and just do it. (p.s our Facebook page has some great motivational quotes).

8. Mindfulness

I know, I know. You’ve heard this a thousand times but it is something that is really great for your health. It is important to set time to say thanks, think about your day, think positive thoughts and to just sit quietly with yourself without distractions, even if it’s only 2 minutes of your day.

Are you a morning person yet? You can get there. Starting your day early and positively can really set the tone for your day. It’s ultimately your choice! You can do it!
