Isolation requires us to stay home, not hang out with our friends, and especially not go to the pub for a beer and that weekly parmigiana special. But it’s not all doom and gloom! There are plenty of things to do at home, and our list can help inspire you.

Exercise: Isolation Transformation! Now is the perfect time to get moving and “˜wow’ your colleagues, family members and friends. If you don’t have access to gym equipment, don’t stress! All you need is a water bottle, sweat towel, space on the floor to move and your own body weight. Lunges, push ups, sit ups, squats, plank, star jumps, you get the idea.

Do a clean out: Out with the old, in the with new! Isolation is the perfect time to go through your wardrobe and clear out those “why did I buy this” “I’ve never worn that” “these don’t fit me” items. If you haven’t worn it in over a year, it’s time to move it on!

Do an online course: Lots of time spent at home has created the perfect opportunity to study online! Now is the time to develop your knowledge and skills and get qualified. Whether it’s for work or hobby purposes, online study provides safe learning from the comfort of your own home.

Get crafty: Want to catch up with friends but still maintain isolation? Host a “˜cork and canvas’ or “˜sip and paint’ on Zoom! Get yourself some paints, brushes and a canvas (oh and some wine of course), then create a Zoom video call, where everyone can see each other and paint at the same time. Imagine a paint class online, where everyone is trying to paint the same thing at the same time. There are plenty of examples online or come up with your own canvas idea for everyone to paint (don’t forget what steps you took so you can share it with your friends).

Self-care: Treat yo self! Face masks, nail polish, bubble baths, tanning, hair treatment, exfoliating, eyebrow tints, the list goes on! Take some time out to relax and nourish your body. You don’t have to spend money on expensive products, there are plenty of DIY recipes online.

Learn a new language: Hola! Those countless mind-numbing hours of sitting around with nothing to do… GONE! Check out an app called “˜Duolingo’ which is fun, interactive and educational. Allow the notifications to pop up and you’ll be reminded to use the app daily; you’ll be on your way to fluency in no time.
