Study online

The CHC30213 Certificate III in Education Support online and workplace course provides you with the necessary skills to work in a range of educational settings in support of a teacher or supervisor. It is an extensive program that readily equips graduates with theoretical and as well as practical skills to support a quality learning environment.

Many parents are now taking an active role in their children’s education and many donate their time to assist the teacher in an assistant teacher’s or teacher's aide role. They come to the school when they have the time and make a valuable contribution to their child’s education. Now a more formal way of providing this service has resulted in the creation of a new qualification that provides the skills to be a teacher’s aide or a teaching assistant in a community setting.

Another area that this qualification can support is home schooling. If a parent chooses to teach their children at home, the skills covered in this entry-level course will provide a framework that ensures the children receive the correct teaching methods and educational support.

Workplace training:

Within this course, there is a mandatory work placement requirement of a minimum of 100 hours, enabling you to graduate highly skilled and confident. Students are provided with a user-friendly learner guide and project workbook to support the work placement and eLearning course materials.

Students will be required to complete:

HLTAID003 Provide First Aid and

HLTAID004 Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting

These units of competency require physical attendance at your local first aid provider and are therefore not included in the course cost.

Australian College, in partnership with Vital First Aid Training Services (RTO90531) will conduct campus based First Aid classes at Surry Hills, Sydney, New South Wales. These classes may be attended for an additional cost, depending on availability.

Student reviews

"During the course I was working full-time and even had a baby! I would recommend the college to anyone who needs to study at their own pace, not the at the pace of the college!"

Yvonne Clarke, 13th August 2013
